Why was Sawyer going to let Pickett kill him? Why didnt he fight back? What are your theories on what is to come?

ok i dont know about the first question but...i think that michael will get killed because of what he did to everybody,Claire and Charlie hook up, but someone else wants Claire,Sun and Jin's baby will be born,While the Others may have communication with the outside world, they have no way to leave, or else Ben would have jetted off to have his surgery somewhere civilized,Hurley will attempt sucided again from the pain of losing libby. those are just some of my thoughts......hope they help

I think because when Ben showed him the other island, telling him that this other island is where they originally were, he found out that there is no way he would be able to go back there! So, he could fight forever and get nothing in return (coz even if he wins, he's not on his "home" island) or he can just give it up because sooner or later he'll die!
Remember when Kate could escape and he told her there was no point? He lost hope!
