I'm not embarrassed about my nationality (Swedish/Italian) nor the fact that I'm a US Citizen. And if I could afford to travel abroad I would still be proud to admit I'm from America.

I am sometimes embarassed to admit I am an American when travelling abroad, because Bush has been such a disaster!

I am also sometimes embarassed to admit I am a German, because of what Hitler did. (I have dual citizenship.)

Fortunately, most people recognize that just because you are a citizen of a country does not mean you support the war crimes of your country's leader.
