Why do men ignore women when they're speaking to them?

Question

And, no, this is not done during a Sunday afternoon football game!
It could be any place at any time and I am not known to be a gossip or blabber mouth. (Such ppl deserve to be ignored!)

I have never been ignored by guys when I talk to them. But then again, I talk about stuff we have in common(mostly video games and Family Guy) and not about silly girly things.

I don't remember exactly what it said but I read something for an English class that said men and women communicate/listen differently. An example was this couple and every time the girl would start talking the guy would lay down on the floor, close his eyes, and say nothing the whole entire time. She got upset because she thought he wasn't listening to her and they went to a counselor. They ended up finding out that he listened better when he closed his eyes because when his eyes were open his mind couldn't stay focussed because he was looking around trying to focus on everything around him. All though, I've always heard that it's just a guy thing, but I do think that people communicate differently. I guess women are better at multitasking than men and they have conversations with multiple people at the same time. A guy on the other hand has enough trouble trying focus on what one person is saying, so maybe that's it.

It is not always true. Men ignore women when there are too many things to listen to or they(men) do not have enough patience to go through all the words. There can be many causes to be less patient:
1. Less/No interest in the subject discussed
( a. He might have no interest at all
b. His views may be different, but he does not reveal
c. He feels all that is said by a specific girl is junk, he prefers to ignore, not to get overbored)
2. Less interest in the girl he is talking to/Less interest in talking
( a. He might be interested in something else rather than some discussion or chat
b. He meets many girls and tired of listening to all of them)
3.Less/No interest in the way a subject is discussed
( a. He may not like the way she talks
b. He is in hurry and does not want to go through all the details the girl is giving him)

women ignores guys for different reasons....they are already in a relationship that satisfy them,They already have a guy in mind whom they are waiting and hoping he will ask them out and is playing the waiting hoping game,they don't date guys they work with,they don't find you attractive,they don't know you from Adam,so many reasons my friend...i think you are looking for love in all the wrong places...i am not good looking but i have never been without a girlfriend so there you go and all my exs were all attractive ...my present wife is beautiful so keep looking you will find her ,the one but don't start hating all women.

I truly don't think they ignore us as much as they speak an all together different language than women do .

Hint ... If you want him to undersatand you and agree with you , at different times and in different ways tell him the same thing at least three to four times . Soon , you will see , he will come up with this great idea , and has no clue where it came from .

This is just me and not speaking for all guys, but most of the time i just don't get what women are taliking about or even why they are talking. one, my girlfriend will talk to me about some nonsence stuff that i could care less about or things that men shouldn't be takling about. two, why do women need to talk all the time, comming into the room, leaving, wathing tv, in bed, on and on and on... i have spent all day with my buddies and maybe only said whats up when i arrived. oh...one more thing, we don't like to do ****, stop stop telling us to do **** all the time. most of the time when women speak it leads to doing s#@t. i hope this helps.

Men's brains are programmed differently than women's and that's a result of it! Men can't focus on more than one thing at a time, so if he's thinking about something else, then he will not hear you.

Myabe it's because women like to talk of feelings and men are feeling "retards". It's not a guys element and they feel lost and don't know how to respond so they avoid it all together.
Try picking different men to talk to.
