Yeah, right; what you really mean is how come we didn't send the Ethiopians to Iraq and handle Somalia ourselves, right?!?
Oops, sorry; what you really, really mean is we should have had the Ethiopians handle both for us. Did I finally get it right?

If a certain former President, and i won't say his name cause I don't want to offernd anyone, had put a little more time and effort into the previous mission in Somolia, this problem might not exist today. A perfect example of why cut and run won't work. And we did actually replace the government in Iraq. It is a true government, not a temporary one like you are seeing in Somolia. and it is not possible to remove a military force the size of the one we have in Iraq in two weeks. Not possible. Additionally, our troops are efforting to rebuild war damaged area of Iraq, rebuilding bridges, power supplies and water and sewage systems in Iraq, besides killing babies(sarcasm), they are doing far more to leave the country in a better condition that the ethiopians are doing for somolia.

Somalia had a recognized government-in-exile that had previously been deposed by the Islamic forces just a few months earlier. With the help of the Ethiopian army, that government has been restored. Far different from the US in Iraq where no alternative Iraqi government was ready and waiting to step in and take control.

The truth is there is no stable government in Somalia. The Ethiopians are just making a statement on the boarders. The US ask them to cease and desist. It is a conflict for a future time.

Ethopia bombed everything they wanted to ....didn't care who they upset and ignored the rest of the world telling them about killing "innocent civilians".
The international community warned that the exacerbating war in Somalia could trigger a full-scale war in the Horn of Africa.
As Ethopia and Somalia have been having this war for years , you may be a bit optomistic in your statements......According to the World History Database -- Ethopia and Somalia have been fighting each other since 1978. Almost 30 years and still bickering........

They had a better plan to start with, and they executed it well.
However, I think the real issue is that the Bush administration never had any intention at all of getting into and out of Iraq quickly. Our military is NOT that incompetent. The longer we are in Iraq, the more billions Halliburton and the other defense contractors make (all friends and campaign contributors of Bush). At the cost of the lives of our brave soldiers.
Things are going exactly as planned -- you've just been lied to as to what the plans were, that's all :)

We had no problem taking over Iraq, it was pretty quick. The problem came after the takeover, when we tried to install a Democracy. Let's see how long Ethiopia takes to do that trick.

And you seem to not know squat about what is going on with either war. How can that be since it is all in the news hourly.
