I mean..what do I do from a legal standpoint? I am not sue-happy but I at least want my medical bills paid.

I did tell the hospital and they confirmed since it was all I had eaten for the previous 24 hours and I got ill right away..I just told them it was mac n cheese but did not mention that it was a frozen box..now that I think back which must be why they never told me to file anything at the time.

Contact the health department and then write the company. Advise them that you got ill, are pretty sure it was their product.
A- they will want to know to avoid more.
B- Provide them with copies of your medical bills and ask that they re-imburse you for same. If you are reasonable and aren't asking for some "sue happy amount" they will likely pay to make it go away.
Make sure you advise that if you do not hear from them in a certain amount of time (how long depends on how far away you are from their head office) you will be retaining a lawyer to help you recover your medical bills.
In addition, placing the italicized words "without prejudice" on your letter will prevent them from holding you to any settlment you are seeking should the matter go to court. (For example, you can later seek your legal costs if they are extremely difficult.)

You have no evidence of anything so there is no "next". You shouldn't have tossed the contents as that was your evidence of "poisoning". Having the box top really doesn't help. And honestly, it is doubtful that frozen mac & cheese made you that violently ill... unless you left it out on the counter for a couple of days and then ate it.

You'll need to contact an attorney.
Proving that it was the Mac & Cheese is going to be difficult especially as you threw away the contents. The hospital may be able to help in identifying the cause.

Oh brother. Seriously if a frozen food made you sick don't you think the doctor's would have had to contact the Health Department and an investigation and possible recall would have had to be done. Where is your proof that this particular item made you ill? And you sound sue-happy. You aren't going to get rich off of this, I suggest you buy a lottery ticket, you'll have better luck there.

Call the Health Dept and report it (if the hospital hasn't done so already.) If you can retireve the contents, that would help. Also, you probably used butter and milk when making it, so save those as well. The health dept will advise you what to do next.

Depends - can you prove you were ill from the mac and cheese? If not, then you do nothing because you have no case.

it will be much cheaper if you just let it go....you need hard evidence from the doctors stating which food made you sick...otherwise the mac n cheez company can just say your word against theirs....if you do have evidence from doctors...then contact attorny or take them to small claims court if you only want up to $5000

Call the board of health or food and drug administration. If nothing works see a lawyer.
