Where to start is based on what is given. As I recall (I'm a few years past my geometry trainer), you look at the final goal (concpt to be proven), and apply the given facts and universal facts (i.e. the sum of all angles in a triangle equals 180 degrees, etc.) to achieve that proof.

Not sure if that helps, but I don't think I could effectively create an example from scratch.

I assume in diagrams >?

What I do is : I write in the diagram first :
all the angels that I know.
then I fill in the F angels and Z angels until they aare exhausted.
next I try to find equal lengths

with these two you can do a lot if not everything.

it depends on which you want to prove...a good idea is to check the sum of segments or angles, use axioms or theorems derived from the axioms...if u ask more clearly i can help u better
