Hasek is playing great, but he's old and has a history of injuries. I think it's unlikely that he will last through the playoffs, and I don't think Detroit will go very far without him.

The Red Wings defense is remarkable, and it's helping Hasek (who himself is good too) stay healthy and keep the best GAA in the league. The only problem are the fowards, the team's leading scorer is a 29 year old journeyman skater who almost didn't even get a chance this year. The team's point leader is Nick Lidstrom, a defenseman, I guess that's to be expected from a four-time Norris trophy (best defenseman in league) winner but still pretty bad. Pavel Datsyuk and a few other fowards have a history of going silent in the playoffs, which is why they have been choking in the first two rounds of the playoffs this season instead of keeping with the good regular seasons they've been having.
Overall they're a good team but have alot riding on their defense and Hasek for the playoffs.

I live in Detroit and have been a Wings fan all my life. Hasek the goalie is doing greart. Lets just say they are a young team at the top of their game right now.

The Wings are doing fine, but it's a long season. Age and stamina may become a factor with many of their older players (Chelios, Hasek, etc.) come playoff time.
The Ducks, Sharks, Flames, Canucks & Predators will be in the mix to win the conference.

With Hasek playing like he is they only need a couple of goals a game to win. They'll finish strong in the regular season, but will Hasek carrie it over to the playofs?

They've been looking great lately. I don't think it is all Hasek I think its mostly the defense in front of him. I mean he usually only gets a little over 20 shots a game on him. Detroit's defense is definitely one of the best in the league.

I think they will do great if their scorers keep scoring. That's what hurt them last playoffs-not Manny's play, the scoring dried up. The defence is strong. As long as the defence is strong Old man Hasek's groin should hold up because he won't be overworked. They just need to score, score, score!!!

Even though I dont cheer for them (go oilers) I think they will beat anaheim and buffalo for the least wins, because anaheim is weak without strong players which is a weakness, and I think detroit is a really good team
