I want to have a baby so badly... I had a D & C to try and correct my irregular periods and they took a camera and looking in my uterus and took a piece of it because i had a cyst that was showing up on ultrasound.. Well my doc says everything looks fine in my uterus BUT there was A LOT of scar tissue covering my left ovary and i guess my tubes there too... he said he doesnt know if my tubes are open or not and i will have to TTC for about a year and if no luck then they will stick dye up my uterus to see if my tubes are open. I am a lesbian so i guess my question is it possible with all the scar tissue to still get pregnant and if my tubes are closed can i still get artifically inseminated?

Hi Lesbian princess. If your tubes are closed or blocked, then no. Artificial insemination will not work for you. Remember, the tubes have to grab the egg and filter it downthe tube into the uterus. However, IVF WOULD work for you even if your tubes are blocked (that was my case).

Your doc is wrong, wrong, wrong. Go see an RE - a reproductive endocrinologist. Since you are a lesbian, I'm assuming that you will be using donor sperm inseminated? An RE is the best for that. They will do the test right away to see if your tubes are open. You won't have to wait a year and spend the $$$ on donor sperm. I would say you demand to have that test done. Oh, and it's called an HSG. Hysterosalpingogram. Just say that you want an HSG done...
