No, actually Charlie Rangel Democrat from N.Y. wants to reinstate the draft and not President Bush. If it passes under the new democratic controlled congress, then the President can use the draft. But this is the democrats (congress) call and not the President's.

The only ones I've heard of proposing a draft are a couple of Democrats. I don't think Bush is going to reinstate the draft.

probably not by Bush, but Charlie Rangel keeps crying for a draft knowing it won't happen.
to get drafted a person has to be drug free and have at least a GED, so unlike Vietnam, if a person don't want to go to war, all they have to do is drop out of school on the last day or smoke a joint when they have their physical. At least it will keep Canada from having a lot of illegal Americans.

Only Democrats what to re-institute the draft:
In January, Rangel and Hollings introduced H.R. 163 in the House and S. 89 in the Senate, respectively. The legislation would re-institute a draft to compulsory military or alternative national service for men and women between the ages of 18 and 26 who are U.S. citizens or residents.
Luck for us it was not accepted... a voluntary military is more reliable and well trained than a forced one...

The only people that have ever even brought up the idea of reinstating the draft are Democrats. It's yet another scare tactic by the Democrats intended to convince the gullible to vote for them.

Bush has never, ever wanted a draft. Stop confusing Democrats with Republicans. Check out Charles Rangel (D, NY) he is the one wanting a draft.

LOLOLOL Not a chance! Can you just see some of these rich kids going into the military with the chance of getting sent to Iraq??? It'll never happen... if, by some chance, it did pass, then these stupid wars will stop. Can't have the body bags going home to the suburbs, can we? Can you see the Bush daughters over there? or in boot camp? Oh wait...dad didn't serve, why should they?

If the draft is instituted, look for the new Congress to implement it.
The President would lose the remaining support if he does it.
EDIT: He has many bases around the world from which to move troops, if necessary.
