Definitely go, You already have the tickets right? He is pretty ok, not the absolute best, but its a concert so it should be fun and you could meet some cool people. Just go and make the best of it!

No offense, but I think Akon is a one-hit wonder with an extended warranty on his recognition.
His breakthrough song "In The Ghetto" was pretty good, but everything else he drops is WEAK!
It's like he's a natural born background singer.
Even in his own songs, he just sounds like he's singing a perpetual, shape-shifting chorus that lasts 3 to 5 minutes. Sell the tickets.
Sorry.
You should stick to better singers, like Usher, for example.

I hate him! His voice is hella annoying. Sounds like a mosquito in your ear. I would go to his concert only to holla at beeotches. Are the tickets for the Bay Area?
Also he used to sell drugs for Rick Ross (drug dealer turned rapper) and he ended up snitching on one of Rick's other workers. Do the research you'll see.
His one & only hot song was his 1st one "Locked Up" featuring Styles P

Akon is currently one of the best in the game if not the best... His neww album konvicted is both compelling and party-like... H is also one of the FEW R&B artist who write and produce all their songs... Most people just sing songs written for them... I would love to go to one of his concerts but, he has not come to my Area yet!!!

I think he's pretty good. I like most of his songs so far. I've only heard 2 or 3, but he does get kinda annoying with his squeaky voice and the radio keeps on playing the same songs over and over again!

OMG.... i fink "Acorn" (as i lyke to call him) is a GENIUS!!!!!
I dont know why peeps waste their tyme dissin sumone!!!! I love his dress sense (him and Kanye West kill the scene for their dress sense!!!) and i LOVE both of Akons' albums.

I think he should get used to saying, "paper or plastic?", because in a few years he'll be old news like the Backstreet boys, and no one will like him. If only some people from today would take from the Beatles... For shame.

He's a good singer/songwriter. He's got a good voice. Enjoy the concert and have fun! You'll find someone else to go with you if you don't already.
