favourite actor: MOST definitely Johnny Depp, he's sexy , an extremely talented and versatile actor that isn't afraid to take on a role that's out of the norm .. like "Ed Wood" or "Willy Wonka" from
"charlie and the chocolate factory" and especially as "Capt. Jack Sparrow" from the two 'pirates of the caribbean" movies
and favourite actress : keira knightley , she does an excellent acting job in both 'pirate' movies, she gets into the action and her character is a lady who can fend for herself and not having to always depend on a man to help her

Actor: I can't really pick anyone because the degree of hotness always plays a factor.
Actress: I would have to see Kiera Knightly. I don't think I've seen a single bad one with her. She can play such a wide variety of roles- from Pirates of the Caribbean to Pride and Prejudice, which she got a Best Actress nomination for. Also another thing that I think is interesting about her is that I think she honestly loves what she does. For example, she's dyslexic. When she was a kid she made an agreement with her parents that if she learned to read, then they would get her an agent.
THAT'S a great piece of determination!

I am pleasantly shocked by all the great answers you have received to this question. I didn't see a single BAD response. Normally, I don't like to repeat other people so I just go on to the next question if I can't say anything new. However, even though my favorites have already been mentioned, I'll go ahead with . . .
Actor: Robert DeNiro, because he commands a stage presence like no one else. I always believe him in all his roles, no matter how different or unusual; he makes the suspension of disbelief easy.
Actress: Kate Winslet, because she comes across totally real and sincere. Outside of acting, she seems like an exceptionally intelligent and sensible person too.

Kate Winslet - Just because out of all the British actresses she seems the most versatile and natural, particularly in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Neverland and Little Children.
Gael Garcia Bernal - Because he is so different and is so uncharacteristically Hollywood. Really loved The Motorcycle Diaries and I'm looking forward to Babel

My fave actor is Johnny Depp by far. Not only is he completely gorgeous, but he's also really talented. No one else could ever play Captain Jack Sparrow like that.
As far as an actress...I think I'd have to go with Catherine Zeta Jones. She's got that confidence that makes her girly but tough, which makes her so believable in her characters.

My fave Actor is Edward Norton. That guy is amazing!! I think that he works so well because whatever character he plays, he makes you believe the character. With masters like Hoffman, Pacino, De Niro and Hopkins, for me Norton is a good pupil.
My fave actress is Drew Barrymore. Not because all of her movies are awesome but because she is such a wonderful human being!!! She got into drugs, alcohol at such short age and she was able to recover, re invent herself, re emerge her career. She even settle her own production company down. For me Drew is such a life example!! I adore her.

Actor- Denzel Washington. True stories like The Hurricane, John Q, Antwone Fisher, Malcolm X and Man on Fire did it for me.
Actress- Sandra Bullock. I've been in love with her since I was like 7. Even in bad movies I love her.
