Because she has bonded more with you and accepts you as the alpha dog. You are in charge my dear! It is the same in my home. I am at home more -therefore the dogs spend more time with me and we have a closer relationship. You're more likely the primary caregiver and he/she looks to you to meet their needs....for shelter, food, companionship, comfort etc.

believe it or not a dog can sense who likes them and who don't, you probably pay more attention to him or her than he does. so the dog is going to listen to you , more than he would listen to him. tell him to play with the dog more often and give the dog some attention and as soon as the dog gets to know him better he will start to listen. good luck.

You have probably asserted yuorself as the leader of the pack and he hasn't. Some dogs do unfortunately gravitate towards certain sexes too.
