Firstly, he has close business ties with NBC, which (this is how he won Florida's vote against Al Gore...for more info watch the movie "Fahrenheit 9/11")
Secondly, his personallity, though never really considered intellectual, is at least understandable and consistent to the average American who is not a whiz at politics (unlike, say, John Kerry who is very confusing and unconsistent looking to those not very knowledgable in political terms). In addition, unlike Kerry, he comes across as not being overly proud and the kind of guy most people could have a beer with, kind of like Bill Clinton was: most American's appreciate that kind of humbility.
Lastly, many nations probably give kudos to Bush figuring if they don't show signs of rebelling against him (like the small fraction of the Iraqi population that is terrorist), they won't have to deal with his speaking for people of other countries and overiding their liberties (thinking he must have the best answer because, for example, his nation is more economically influential than most (at least for now as India and China's hard work, for example, is starting to start its own businesses take credit for itself rather than hand its earnings over to American parent corporations)).
Shortly put, Bush is a master of image, if anything. We need either him to get off his high horse about helping (which, in reality, is more equivalent to controlling) other nations and start working on his problems at home first.

Some people actually do think this way, but it's not the man that inspires, it's the title he holds. Anyone who has met Bush, and personally spoken to him, comes away from the meeting shaking his head.

Well I think personally it is because he is so intelligent. He is a wonderfully articulate speaker and always makes his point clearly and concisely.
He is capable of making logical well thought out decisions. He never starts something he doesnt finish, he is a good leader. He never wavers in the face of terrorism. He is a brave patriot who has served our country well from his Vietnam years right up until present day.
The world is a far better place for a brave man like G.W. in office.

FDR was regarded as an Idiot, Kennedy was considered a middle class catholic whoremaster, Nixon was hated, Ford a stumbling un-elected fool, Carter a peanut farming country bumpkin, Reagan a Foolish old Cowboy, Bush one a lackey, Clinton was regarded as a joke except fun at parties. I do not recall one point in history where An American President was Loved. Nor One prime minister for that matter.

Where are you getting your statistics, from MAD Magazine? He's the first "intellect" I've ever seen who can't speak two sentences without murdering the English language.
Get a grip, empty head. You're delusional.

From a British point of view, I assure you we regard him as an incompetant fool who can barely string an entire sentence together. He is simply a puppet for the far more intelligent men in his administration.

To get a frank opinion, you need to ask people who are not afraid of US or Bush. I am pretty sure they will say Bush is a piece of #@$&.

Is he respected and honored around the globe? That's news to me. They are just faking because of the military we have. Don't worry, his term is almost up.
