I know of only one OpenSource anti-virus product - ClamAV - and it is awfully bad. Making a good anti-virus product requires an extensive amount of specialized knowledge and the few people in the world with this knowledge already work for anti-virus companies. In fact, there isn't enough of them - most anti-virus companies are on the constant lookout for new experts.

Open Source is probably NOT the best place to look for Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware software. Software like that require updates regularily and if you are relying on a "less than reliable" source (like Open Source) your tool will, at best, be useless. At worst, it can be an open-door into your system.
