Don't get me wrong Ball St. had a wonderful regular season but they did not play one team in the top 40!! With a schedule like that you don't get a direct shot a National Championship but you should get the chance to earn one. ( continued below. )

Aug 31 Sacramento State W 45-0
Sep 7 Oregon State W 42-14
Sep 16 at Wyoming W 17-10
Sep 23 Hawaii W 41-34
Sep 30 at Utah W 36-3
Oct 7 Louisiana Tech W 55-14
Oct 15 at New Mexico State W 40-28
Oct 21 at Idaho W 42-26
Nov 1 Fresno State W 45-21
Sat, Nov 11 at San Jose State W 23-20
Sat, Nov 18 Utah State W 49-10
Sat, Nov 25 at Nevada W 38-7

With that said, last night's game vs OSU is living proof why there should be a playoff system implemented in NCAA football. Fans would love it.

If they can put 64 NCAA basketball teams in a tournament then I'm sure they can make a 16 game playoff bracket for NCAA football.

hell no. so are you going to tell me, that boise deserves to play ohio st., when they converted a trick lateral play on 4th and 18, and a running back throw on 4th and 2, and a statue of liberty for the two point conversion! lmao. ohio st. would sniff those out so easily, and if boise does want a match, then they should beat their opponents more convincingly that by a point, or like 3 points in the WAC. they pretty much lost yesterday, but they got lucky. LUCK. you are going to need a lot more than LUCK, to beat ohio st. i hate yahoo answerers, most of them are the stupidest people you can ask sports questions to, just cause a team went 13-0, doesnt mean they deserve to play number 1. they almost lost to oklahoma. i dare boise to play in any other division, except the independents, and i gurantee they would have a record below .500, God the people that say they deserve a chance are so stupid.

No. Even though BSU went 13-0, they were in the WAC conference. The WAC isn't a very known conference like the Big 10 is. I asked why Boise wasn't #2. and its because they didn't play any big teams. So unless they start to play big teams, they won't play Ohio State.

If BSU wants a shot at ever playing in a national title game, they should consider playing some really tough non-conference games or join a stronger football conference. BSU is a good football team, but they don't deserve a shot with the schedule they played. It really wouldn't matter, though, OSU would smoke them anyway.

DON'T TEMPT FATE!!! Oklahoma is not Ohio State, does 12-0
mean anything?(beat #2 team twice) probably 3 times!
BSU can't match buckeyes speed on defense, or offense.

no, because Florida might beat Ohio St.
What would Boise's conference record be if they played in the Big Ten? 4-4,5-3 at best?
BE REAL, Boise plays in the frickin WAC which had four of the WORST 1A teams this year: New Mexico St, La Tech, Utah St and Idaho

Yes, They stunned OU last night. Great game...although pretty devastating to an OU fan such as myself. They should get a shot. BCS needs to develop a playoff system, although they never will. Regardless, Ohio State is good enough to beat any team so it doesnt really matter who they play for the national championship.

Which BSU are you referring to, Boise State? If so, then no. The Bowl games were determined based on how teams performed during the regular season.

Now, I think a more germane question might be "should the NCAA institute a playoff system for Division 1A football?", in which case the answer would be yes.

Since no one knows who would win, the answer is an obvious yes. If Florida wins next week, the SHOULD be co-national champs, but because of the schedule they play, that will not happen. This is exactly why, again, we need a PLAYOFF!!
