I have never been the eyeshadow, lipstick, perfume kind of girl.. Until recently.. My problem is that I have no idea how to apply make-up of any kind properly. I'm not sure what colours go well with my very pale skin and blonde hair. Can anyone send me suggestions/advice about what books to read or tips in general?

You sound absoutely gorgeous. Try the mineral make-up (Jane Iredale pressed mineral foundation warm silk) Try to find a color that's as close to your natural skin color as possible. The mineral make-ups are God-sends. They cover flawlessly, and you just can't get it wrong. Be sure to use a natural hair bristle brush to apply your minerals with. Use a taupe or light brown/blonde brow powder to fill in your brows, use a flesh tone or white shadow and put on entire lid all the way to brow bone. Then fill in the crease with a brown shadow. Line the upper lash line as close to the lashes as possible with a brown liner and smudge with a swab or a smudger. You can line the lower lashes but don't use a heavy hand, you don't want a racoon look. Do so very lightly or not at all, or go just 3/4ths of the way, just past the pupil toward the inside. Use a natural colored blush on the apples of your cheeks ( a rose or apricot color) and a nude colored lipstick a bit darker than your natural lip color. You don't want to deviate from your natural look. Then use a brown/black mascara. You don't want to use harsh colors or else you'll get the "trailer trash look" For an evening look you can go a little more dramatic with your colors on your make-up but don't overdo it or you'll look like a clown. I like you have pale skin, so you must take very good care of it. Make sure you use suncreen every single day and never ever tan. If you do you will be inviting horrible wrinkles, freckles, age spots, and discolorations, not to mention skin cancer. Please take care of your unique beauty and reveal in it. Happy New Year.

If you have a MAC store around you, why not go in there. Mostly all the employees there are certified as makeup artists, so they really know what looks good. The store near me, the people are great becuase they don't just try to sell you stuff, they'll just tell you the truth, even if it means you don't end up buying as much stuff, etc. So I would suggest that. Plus, they'll let you try everyhing before you buy, and you can add our own input on what you'd like the end result to be. Plus their makeup is the best and lasts longest.

Use a foundation/powder that is the same color as your skin, get a blush that is a peachy color and put bronzer on top of the blush(it makes your skin have a vibrant glow),if you are going to wear mascara or eyeliner use a brownish color(black doesn't look right with pale skin and blonde hair). When you apply your blush make sure to put it on the apple of your cheeks it makes them stand out more!Try to stick with a pale pink or shiny lip gloss/lip stick. GOOD LUCK!

start by appling some bronzer and cover up stick to any spots or darkness under the eyes then apply a light pink blush just smile and apply it to the cheek bones. apply a thin line of brown eyeliner above the lash line and in the rim of your eyes and 2 coats of brown mascara

eye shadow is tricky because you need a colour that suits your own eye colour

soft pink and golds work best on brown eyes

earth tones such as browns and greens work best on green/hazel eyes

and blues and grays work best on blue eyes :)

finish to look by apply a light pink lip gloss and if you want more tips then type in makeup tips on goole. its really helpful good luck

the best place I can recommend is either to go to one of the places that sell makeup like clinique, lancome etc and ask them for help on buying and applying or to go to youtube.com. Search for make-up tips or beauty tips and you'll find a slew of videos showing you how to do it.

The best part about www.youtube.com is that it goes into everything step by step so you can SEE everything rather than simply reading and then getting certain things wrong.

You should try looking at mags(seventeen) and makeup shops like M.A.C (my favorite) have pamphlets and books on how to apply and have specialists that can tell you what colors look best on you according to your skin tone, hair color, skin type, and face shape.Good luck.
