I really love PC RPG/adventure games and am having trouble finding games of that style on DS. Can anyone recommend a DS game that involves the typical adventure/RPG elements like wandering around, collecting things, going on quests, etc.?

We bought my son a DS for christmas and the first game he bought was "Lunar Genisis" and this is a DS game. I've only played part of it but you start out as a sort of village postman/parcel delivery guy. There's all sorts of quests to do monsters to fight etc.etc. Being playing for about 6 hours now and it's quite good so far

I know its not a DS game, but even FF3 on DS is dire. Battles take aeons.

You would like (if you haven't already played)
Golden Sun 1 & 2

They will just absorb you into their stories.
I have a DS, and Im still trying to complete Golden Sun 2 on it.

No DS RPG/Adventure games compare. There is a game that is okay on DS

Taos Adventure Curse of the Demon Seal.

The controls are a bit awkward, but give it a go if you really want a ds title. Casting spells are pretty good and require a good memory.

Final Fantasy 3 is really good. If you don't mind GBA games, you can play Final Fantasy 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6. There is also Golden Sun 1 and 2 for GBA and there is the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. There is a new Zelda for DS coming or is out already called Phantom Hourglass, which I hear is going to be quite fun.

There really is only FF3. Ds is not too terribly RPG friendly. I wish it was because I would play mine more. I love RPGs! Hopefully they will come out with some more if FF3 does well.

The slot for a GameBoy cartridge is not small like a DS/3DS cartridge.. The 3DS can only play 3DS and DS games.
