Intellectual stimulation is the best cure for boredom - find an area of interest for you (sports, cards, hobbies) and think of ways you would improve it. Take a topic you're interested in and do some research on it (as if you were on a debate team) and argue your points.

Physical stimulation is the next best - walking, sports, ect. Hope this helps! Great question!

I know it sounds kinda silly, but window shopping where I wouldn't usually shop is fun! :) I for one when I go shopping always visit the same old places...next time you're at the shopping centre, make a pact with yourself to go to all the other places you'd never thought about going in before. You can find some really interesting stuff you wouldn't have found otherwise. eg I found a beading shop not long ago, and now I can't wait to try to make some of my own jewellery! :) If that's not convenient, do something active. Go for a walk, or just put on your favourite music and dance around while you tidy up the house LOL. The exercise will release endorphins - kinda makes you wonder why people don't exercise more often! :)

Hi toby j.

Lol...I just saw one of the other answers... I don't think SEX is a craft.....it could be a hobby, I guess. lol... Well. I think your probably looking for something different! I'd suggest shopping at a local craft store and seeing what peaks your interests. Maybe some of the magazines they sell would have something of interest to you.

I like needlecrafts. So I do lots of quilting and embroidery work. I've made dolls and done lots of variety of things. The A&C field is vast and you have to just jump in and find out what interests you and then go for it! I'd like to recommend joining one of the Yahoo groups in the area of your interests; there will be folks there that are willing and ready to help you get started at your chosen activity. Good luck and have fun!!

I go to a bookstore and get an interesting book from the cheap section... sometimes I take it to a coffee shop to read and have a $2 cup of coffee at, and sometimes I bring it home, turn on some good internet radio, and read....

When I'm bored, I also like to take pictures. I get SOO obsessed with taking photos of ordinary objects and arrangements, or of my pets, or of myself in the mirror. I've managed to sell some of the still life photos, too :)

Besides being a photo freak, I think it's fun to look online or in books at different ideas and then try to copy them myself.... or download new software and try to learn it...

When I get pathetically bored, I take stupid videos of myself or my pets and join stupid random sites to post them on.

Right now I'm bored and watching some clips about 9-11 and making a list of things I should be doing besides procrastinating.

If your interested in doing a craft, visit a craft store and take a look around. They have some pretty cool stuff that might peak your interest. Other than that, do something that you have an interest is. If you spend a lot of time on the internet, why not build your own website.

Learn to crochet. It is the BEST passtime and you get results fast -- I can finish a toque in 2 hrs. It is way more fun than knitting.

Also, take up a game...Card games are old school but they are still fun. Sudoku and crosswords are really fun and relaxing.

I can recommend the George R.R. Martin fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" -- it will take you months to finish and it's the best thing I've ever read.

Volunteer...there are many organizations that need people like you to help out...like crisis hotlines, American Red Cross, Soup Kitchens, helping children after-school with homework, helping the elderly..etc.

Not only can volunteering be fun, but it's extremely rewarding...you can learn a lot about yourself, have fun, and help someone in need!

If you have any siblings, torture/play with them. Try jump roping, reading, painting, going outside and climb a tree,( but don't get yelled at by your neighbor, that happens to me ALOT ) write a story, if you have a dog, take him/her on a walk, anything that comes to your mind. And make it active. I have read in many articles that people gain most weight when they are bored.

Read a book, watch TV, play a game, do a puzzle, clean, go for a walk, go for a bike ride, take a nap.
