not really but what i do hear more of is the ranting at the english, because it's more comfortable to do that than turn around and face their own history, they fought amongst themselves constantly and betrayed each other - this makes for uncomfortable and unpalatable home truths. All the ills are blamed on the english. I just wish they wouldnt define their scottishness by the extent of their English bashing.
The Irish stopped doing that a long time ago, emerged proud and mostly successful and with charm. There is no chip on the shoulder or sour grapes that the scots have. There isnt the need to prove their irishness by the levels of their hatred for their neighbours. The Scots have a way to go to be proud to be scottish without resorting to proclamations of hatred towards england. They could learn alot from the Irish, if they werent so stubborn and resentful.

I'm not Scottish. But I have had many Scottish friends. I do not think they are any more racist than the next person. Some may very well be racist just like a Hindu, a Muslim, an Irish, an Englishman, etc.. can be racist. But by and large I love the Scotts. They are great people.

I have tremendous respect for the Scots as well as the Irish. They're what put the Great into Britain.
Even if there was independence somewhere down the line - I'd always see them as fellow Brits ... and brethren.
And though the whole nation seems to be going to the dogs - their spirit is something that I, as an Englishman, take great pride in being part of.

Scotland is one country with many nationalities. Very little racism when compared to other uk cities. Ofcourse there is always going to be this animosity between scotland and england, will only end when we get our freedom. just going back to what Bryan D said about drunken scots on english streets, well, your country didnt refuse our oil revenues, away back in the 70's, when england was almost bankrupt.

We are a very proud race. If anyone treats us badly we stick together. We've had to put up with others taking from us for years. It's still happening.
