I have been having these shooting pains in my lower abdomin, someone told me that I might be getting ready to go into labour or I could be dilating, I am only 33 weeks pregnant. These pains occur when I am sitting down for a while and when I stand up I cant stand up straight because it hurts so much, My lower back hurts also, and I have a alot of pressure.. down there.. What should I do?

It sounds like gas pain to me! Don't forget that the last trimester can be an extremely gassy time. The only time that I can't stand up straight is when I have gas pains. Ask your doctor if it is safe to take Gas X. I am sure it is, but just to be on the safe side! I promise you will feel much better.

I am 34 weeks pregnant, and i am expierencing the same stuff cept the pains that i have in my abdomin arnt quite as bad as the ones down there. the best thing i can say is to call your doc and have them move up your appointment day. thats what i did, also take it easy and relax alot more, for me the more i lay on the couch kind of stretched out the better it starts to make me feel, not that it makes it go away, it wont, but at least its not constant pain. good luck though.

This is normal, they are called Braxton Hicks contractions. It is your body's way of getting ready for delivery. You are probably starting to dilate. If the pain is too unbearable then you should call your doctor, or if your water breaks, definately call the doctor. But for the most part this is normal. Good Luck and congratulations.

Definitely Braxton Hicks....You're probably just getting ready to have it. You are probably dilating. It takes awhile to fully dialte most women have already started dilating before labor. I was at 1cm for about a month before they induced. It's normal to feel some pain. But just to be safe and put your mind at ease call your ob. But I'm sure your just dilating getting ready for your beautiful baby.

go to your doc or the hospital.... my daughter was pressing down there the whole pregnancy...... & my cervix was thin..... & pain in your lower back is supposed to indicate contractions (however, i never experienced this, my contractions felt like SEVERE menstrual cramps in my abdomen, right where the baby was positioned at) & i went into labor at barely 28 weeks.... my baby was fine, but you should definitely get checked in case this is the beginning stages of labor for you, better to be told it's not & get sent home than to have the baby at home, or worse, in the car....but i was the same way when these pains started, i was just doubled over they were so bad, & i never got to the lower back pain, just in my abdomen so don't just assume anything, go to your doc

im 30 weeks and it sounds like whats been happening to me...latly i could be walking or sitting, and it feels as though the baby is pushing right outside of me, or his hand is poking out of my cervix, and it furts so bad, just for a few seconds though, and its gone until a little later, and my back, oh my! it feels like period cramps right in my back, its killer!!! i asked my doctor about all this on wed. and she said its normal, so im not sure, what else it could be, i mean its really weird. but do you also get the feeling like baby is pushing down and ready to come out when you pee??? because latly when i go pee, it seems like nothing but baby wants to come out, even if i have to pee really bad!!! email me if you have any more concerns!!!

if you are really concerned, call your OBGYN. i remember having similar pains when i was pregnant, and i was told it was normal. The doctor told me it was my uterus steching.. if it keeps happening let your doctor know.
