It doesn't matter when you take your prenatal vitamin, as long as you are taking it then the baby is getting what it needs

Do what you can. If you can't hold down the vitamin do your best to eat right. I had the same problem the doctor finally told me to stop taking them. I had the problem of not keeping food down either which is more complicated. Only certain foods stayed down. If i didnt move around to much than I was better off. I held more down. I finally ended up on 50% bedrest. This suck especially because I had a two year old. But, I made it and had a healthy girl. I am sure your baby will do fine. Especially if you are able to hold down any good food. Good luck. And congrats. Also I wanted to add that there is medication the doctor can prescribe that helps with the morning and all day sickness. It does not hurt the baby and it helps. Sometimes you have to try different ones before you find the right one that will help.

It's probably the brand of vitamin that the doctor has got you on. I'd suggest trying a different one and if that dont help then I dont see why you couldnt take the vitamin at 12 am. I didnt take my prenatal for the fact it was making me sick. My daughter is two now and is happy and healthy. But I do agree it is something that you need.

I had trouble with my prenatal vitamin, and my doctor gave me a prescription of childrens Flintstone vitamins. I took 2 a day, and they did not make me sick. My doctor said it was equavilient to one prenatal vitamin. Tell your doctor those make you sick, and that you need something else. You are not getting the nutrients anyway if you throw them back up. Good Luck.

Take a flinestone chewable and a folic acid vitamin. They are a safe alternative to the prenatal vitamin and a LOT easier on your stomach. If you eat well and take the new alternatives (still before bed though and eat something afterwards like crackers) and you will be fine. Good Luck!!

Talk to your doctor again. My best friend was getting extra sick from her vitamins and her doctor ok'ed her to stop taking it until her morning sickness went away. If you throw up the vitamin, it is not being absorbed into your system anyway! Just bring it up the next time you have an OB appt. The answer may surprise you.

Some doctors actually recommend that you take the pre-natal vitamin at night, since it can cause your stomach to be upset. If you take it at night, then you'll most likely sleep through the upset tummy. Or at least that's what they're figuring! Try it, and if it works for you that's what you should do! :) Your body will process it the same whether it's 12am or 12pm.
Good luck!

Is it a prenatal vitamin??? If it is you have to take those, but maybe switch brands. If its just a regular vitamin then I would tell your Doc your symptoms and see if he can put you on a differ vitamin. Sorry you feel bad!!!

It's time to ditch the vitamins because apparently something isn't going right. Or,eat your meals and then take your vitamins an hour or so after you eat. Or vice versa.

sometimes people get nauseous because of the iron in the pill. I took mine before bed because they made me sick, but i felt better if i laid down after taking it. good luck.
