Yes, blood test are much more effective.
There are two types of pregnancy tests. One tests the blood for the pregnancy hormone, hCG. The other checks the urine for this hormone. You can do a urine test at home with a home pregnancy test. You need to see a doctor to have blood tests.
These days, most women first use home pregnancy tests (HPT) to find out if they are pregnant. HPTs are inexpensive, private, and easy to use. Urine tests will be able to tell if you're pregnant about 2 weeks after ovulation. Some more sensitive urine tests claim that they can tell if you are pregnant as early as one day after a missed period.
If a HPT says you are pregnant, you should call your doctor right away. You doctor can use a more sensitive test along with a pelvic exam to tell for sure if you're pregnant. Seeing your doctor early on in your pregnancy will help you and your baby stay healthy.
Doctors use two types of blood tests to check for pregnancy. Blood tests can pick up hCG earlier in a pregnancy than urine tests can. Blood tests can tell if you are pregnant about 6 to 8 days after you ovulate (or release an egg from an ovary). A quantitative blood test (or the beta hCG test) measures the exact amount of hCG in your blood. So it can find even tiny amounts of hCG. This makes it very accurate. Qualitative hCG blood tests just check to see if the pregnancy hormone is present or not. So it gives a yes or no answer. The qualitative hCG blood test is about as accurate as a urine test.

Yes! If you took an at home test and it was negative but you still aren't sure a blood test is more accurate. It tests your hormone levels, and gives doctors a print out of all the different levels. The doctor knows what levels mean what and can then decide.
Even if you take an at home test and it says positive, the doctor will run a test on their own, also. It's just more reliable and less error. I know they say the at home tests are error proof, but let's face it, you're not a professional, the doctor's office is!
At home tests are a good place to start and are generally correct, but some people's hormone levels, even if pregnant, aren't high enough for an at home test to read a positive result.
Good luck!

100% more. You can get false test results in a home pregnancy test. When you've taken the home test and had a positive result, you call your doctor so they can order a blood test. That's usually the first thing the OB requires before seeing you for any prenatal care.
Likewise, if you've taken the home test and you've gotten a negative result, but your period doesn't show up, you should still have the blood test done - just to be certain.

Yes, you can get a positive reading .... within days of conception. A blood test is very sensitive, to the amount of pregnancy hormone in your blood. With a pregnancy test kit, you usually have to be very close to expecting your period or over-due.

A blood test is 100% effective when determining if you are pregnant or not, rather than peeing on a stick.

Blood tests are more accurate than urine/hpt's. They test for the HGC hormone and it shows up in your blood long before it will show in urine. They are both accurate, however I do beleive the blood tests to be more accurate, I am not certain on the percentages though. Good Luck!

No, with the aid of fact the try is designed to stumble upon in basic terms the being pregnant hormone, blood, alcohol, and so on, won't impression the try. you will get precise effects regardless of the presence of blood as this has no longer something to do with the truthfully hormone being detected verify the help insert with the try. in case you're recognizing, you're probably commencing your era, and are not preg, yet once you're beneficial, then it somewhat is in all probability the embryo attaching itself to the wall of your uterus, see a doctor on your first prenatal verify up
