There is a risk of Listeria in softserve ice cream because some places do not properly clean the machine and not all parts of the machine keep the milk at a safe temperature.
That being said the risk is small.
Now if you go to Yogen Fruz. I believe that the yogurt only touches a disposable part?
Likewise McDonalds may be safe if the icecream in packaged individually because the maching stirs with the spoon they give to you.
