I was a victim and chose to end it by not abusing my children or grand children. Often times when people are abused as children they grow up and abuse. It does not maks sense to me as you know the pain it cause's both physically and emotionally so why would you then do the same to your child. people know of the abuse and choose to say well it's not my child by ignoring you are hurting a child. If you know of a child being abused talk to the abuser about seeking help or contact someone who can help the innocent defenseless child. Bless you all! to stand by and do nothing makes us as guilty as the person doing the abuse

I so agree with you. Head turning accomplishes nothing except leaving kids at risk. It can be hard to decide what action to take... but as adults we ALL HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO CHILDREN. We must act to protect and to cherish them.

I do not know if the cycle of child abuse will last forever... but I do know that every person (like you and me) who chooses love and dignity over doing harm helps put a cog in an out of control wheel. Bless you as well for serving as an example to your family and to us all. Every time we bring a child up in kindness, hope for the future increases. ~Andrea

Yes, I believe it can end. I too was a victim of abuse. And I have ended the cycle with my children. It is extremely hard. But knowing that you don't want to inflict the pain on your children that you went through is what I hold on. God Bless you for your change!

Hopefully one day. It is a terrible act indeed, and I pity the people who choose to follow that path. If more people was like you, and did not abuse their children, it would be much better.

ditto, but people get in less trouble for abusing their kids than they do for smoking pot. WTF?
