Jordon whoever---if you can't provide a decent answer to questions, please don't answer at all. I do have IE7, but prefer Firefox. Lizzie---yes, that's how you create a new folder, but it's not a "hidden" folder.

Hidden folders can be created quite easily in Favorites when using IE. You might want to hide a folder simply to keep others from viewing private or personal files.

You cannot. Firefox does not provide such a capability. Besides, what would be the point? The whole idea behind the bookmarks concept is to be able to access easily your favorite Web pages. If they are hidden, you won't be able to access them.

Well, Firefox is not IE. :-) IE stores its bookmarks as *files* (with the extension .URL) in folders on your local hard disk. That's why you can do with its bookmark folders exactly the same thing you can do with any folder on your hard disk - including hide, make read-only and compress them. Firefox stores its bookmakrs as entries in an HTML *file* - and that includes the information that organizes them as "folders". Since these aren't really folders on the hard disk, you can't do with them the same things that you can do with IE's bookmark folders.

Which part of "you can't do what you want" you don't understand? If this capability is so vital to you, use IE.
