you wonder why we have so much litter and fires all over the place. i mean unless im blind i dont see them! Thats terrible.

They figured it would be better to chage $60 for one in the options category. Friggin crap!
I just quit smoking, but anti-smoking laws are another example of the government stripping away freedom.

Because, contrary to the belief of most smokers, most people do not smoke and drive.
Manufacturers have found out that most people weren't even using the ashtrays that came in cars, except to store things. And the cigarette lighter outlet was being used for cell phones. Not designing in ashtrays opened up the designability of vehicle interiors.
And that's still no excuse, auto parts stores, dicount mechandisers, and dollar stores sell ashtrays that fit right into cupholders which every car has way too many of.
And you aren't blind, you just aren't looking beyond the obvious places.

Unless you have been living under a rock or in a Cave in Afganistan Smoking is not very popular so goes it with the Ash Trays in Cars...

I worked at Ford for a few years and on the mustangs you had to purchase a "smoking package" to get the ash tray, otherwise it didn't come with one.

oh ya don't for get your $85 floor mats lol Dealer are geting crazy
why should they care cus if you put all them old cig on the floor of your car it with start to burn a whole in the floor and then u will have to get a new car again that why they make more $

I beleive it is an option you can choose when purchasing your car. But the main reason is that a car that is smoked in is not as easily re-sold, and of course it's no longer PC to smoke!

Why you ask? "Big Brother" is banning smoking EVERYWHERE. They really don't give a sh-- if you litter cause they WANT you to pay a fine. It's a lose, lose sitiuation, my friend.
