Unfortunately some people have more money than brains. Name brands became "name" brands because they had enough media coverage via commercials to pound the name of a product into our heads over and over. In some cases they are well-known because they are excellent products, such as Dawn and Tide.

There is nothing wrong with namebrand clothing, I won't wear clothes from Walmart or KMart because they are inferior and don't last. Ripped jeans are a "fad", you always pay more for a fad (thats where the more money than brains comes in).

Funny you should ask that question... I saw some actress wearing some really cool jeans. Funny thing is, I have the same exact ones, but I didn't pay $1000 for them, I actually paid $35!! Well, that's with discounts, coupons, sales, clearances, etc, etc... You know what I mean. But those celebs don't shop around, whatever they see is what they buy, no matter what the cost. Which I think is kinda dumb, but oh well. I'm not the one making the big dough... I would never pay full price for anything. If there's something I like, I wait until it's on sale!!!

Actually..it just depends. Some of the clothing that costs alot of money really does "fit" better. I have a curvy body, and the better more pricey jeans do fit better, so I buy them. I don't go out and buy a $100.00 top just to wear with the jeans though...that's stupid. But I guess if I didn't have anything better to spend my money on..I would buy whatever clothes I wanted if all of my bills were paid.

great question !
But I'll get kicked out of Y/A if I answer it honestly.
I read an article where NIKE company stated it costs them $25.00 to make a pair of shoes, they sell them for over $100.00.WHO's the sucker here ? ? ?
I don't get paid by those name brand companies to advertise for them,so why should flash their name ? ?
When I purchased my vehicle I told the dealer to remove their sticker off the car,for the same reason,I don't get paid to advertise for them.
They reluctantly did so :(
