Is Bush a "good Christian?"?

If being a "good Christian" means following the teachings of Jesus as found in the four gospels of the New Testament, then he is definitely not a Christian at all.

If being a "good Christian" means "accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour" and loudly announcing to the world at every opportunity, then yes, he is a very good Christian indeed.

You can't be president and use only Christian values, because some things you must do, such as war, go against our philosophy. That aside, some of the language I've heard him use makes it seem he is not a good Christian, but I don't know him well enough to make a judgment.

If he were a "good Christian" he wouldn't have the most dismal record of presidential pardons and sentence commutations of all presidents.

What makes him even more loathsome is the fact that in his youth he was a ``party animal'' and was likely one of those who said that ``when our generation is in power, we'll change these stupid drug laws.''

President Richard M. Nixon and his band of felons gave us the War on Drugs as we know it yet George Bush continues to allow the so-called "Justice" Department to sic its jackbooted thugs to harass, arrest, prosecute sick people who have been authorized by state law to use, grow, possess, etc. marijuana.

What would Jesus think about locking people up and stealing their property because of their choice of medicine?

Mike C, you're right. with the way Bush is sending people off to die with good Christian values like "Turn the other cheek" and "love thy enemies" We will be going to heavan pretty soon.

I just hope they have a window in the floor so we, along with all the people who's death's he's responsible for, can watch Bush Fry...

The bible Says "judge not, lest you be judged" Bush has passed judgment, and it's resulted in so many deaths. (see Iraq) so he's getting judged in return.

And that whole without sin thing? it was not in the original bible. And we were asked to evaluate whether Bush is a Good Christian, not if you are.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be fulfilled."

George Bush President of the United States is a man without honor. He has spread shame on America, it's Constitution, and it's People. It is a highly embarrassing situation for every Good American. This Man has spun completely out of control and he needs to be stopped immediately. President Bush has discounted himself to nothing more then a mere "War Criminal."

No sir he is not... He is a Ted Haggard version of the Christian faith. Now even the Pope is saying that the war in Iraq is wrong and unchristian. He I think knows a thing or two about the Christian faith.

No, no and no. "Thou Shalt Not Kill." And who is responsible for thousands of deaths in Iraq? Who ordered the troops over there to look for non-existent weapons of mass destruction? Where was Osama bin Laden, the brains behind 9/11? It wasn't Iraq. Christians are supposed to be good people - Bush is EVIL!!!

I'd say yes. He sticks to his guns despite the publics opinion. This is what the Bible says to do. In fact it says that those who do the Lords work will be scoffed at and ridiculed, but to be earnest in your endeavors for his names sake. I'd say Bush does that, so if that is the context of a Christian, the answer is Yes. It has nothing to do with your opinion of him.
