It had Polly Holliday in it and its wheres she gets a crate in the mail and when she opens it I think she mixes up some stuff and it makes a little red haired boy. It came on AETN or PBS I think. And it was made back in the early 80's or late 70's.

Oh i am so happy i finally found it Its called Konrad its a wonderworks movie. I didnt find it with much help from yahoo answers but thanks anyways you guys tried.
