There is no real way of letting someone go without hurting them. However, you can be honest and tell them why you think it isn't working out anymore. Just be honest to them and truthful. It's going to hurt them but if you really feel that you can not be with her, let her know. If she really cares about you and then she should know that you are going through a lot of emotions and frustration. She should have given you time and the space that you need to clear your head. So like I said, just sit her down and talk to her and let her know what is on your mind. Make sure you tell her why you feel it isn't working out, and make sure you tell her in person.

Good luck with your recovery!
There is no way to let someone go without hurting them. When someone gets dumped, it hurts. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't let her go.
You need to tell her everything you said here. Be honest and respectful. If you handle the situation with honesty and respect, you can hold your head high knowing you handled it correctly. If she's hurt, she will have to deal with it....just like every person that has ever been dumped. Its sucks, but its not the end of the world.

Congratulations on getting help for your addiction. This what you should be focusing on. It's too hard to have a relationship with anyone, and try to deal with something as hard as a drug addiction. Just sit down and talk to her. It may hurt, but it's better to talk to her now than to let things get more serious for her. It will hurt much more the longer you wait.

If you don't like the way your relationship is going then you need to be the one to make the first move. Don't wait around and hope for change, it'll never come. Since you've noticed that you want things to be different, it's up to you to make the first move. The more you give, the more she'll be able to give back to you. Don't sit back and expect her to change. Stand up and do it. Make the first move.

Give her the "it's not you, it's me" speech. Tell her you aren't ready for a relationship with anyone because you need to deal with your addiction recovery.
Don't go through the motions anymore. That's just leading her on. Good luck on your recovery too.

after 2 months you should just be able to call and tell her that things are not working out like you want them to. if necessary you can white lie and tell her that since you are in rehab you don't think it's a good time for you to be in a relationship right now. thus making it a "it's me not you" type thing.

There is no "best way" to let someone go. If the girl is moving too fast, stop sleeping with her. That should slow things down to a complete stop.

Be honest with her. Tell her how you are feeling and tell her what she can do to help the relationship.
If you really do want to leave her then again, be honest. Tell her why. There is no easy way with these things. You are not responsible for how people react to life situations. Be kind and be honest, she deserves at least that much.

Just say that things are moving too fast, and she has been paying more attention to how she feels than how you felt or she wouldn't be so far out ahead of you, and now you are scared off. Sorry, it sucks.

Tell her that although you care about her that you don't feel the same way about her that she feels about you. I know that it must be very difficult but it is best to let her know now rather than later because of her feelings. Good luck on your recovery!
