i was only unemployed for a few months and i felt like a waste of space. i doubted i could even do a job if i got one. i slept in a lot. got very depressed. and like i said, that was only a couple of months and i have no-one to support but myself. i imagine it must be so difficult if you are unemployed for many months, or even years, and have a family. it must feel very degrading.

If you don't have unemployment benefits there, I suggest you try to create jobs. Look for buildings that need to be demolished and contact the owners. See if they can pay you to do the job. Sell the salvage to others.
Mail deliveries. You might try setting up a business where you deliver mail from major companies in your town to where they are to be delivered in your town. This is sometimes called a messenger service.
If you don't have a job, create one. Do something better and faster than the competition and you might end up being the leader in that area.

I was unemployed for six weeks. I thought I could take a small vacation since I always work even thru my actual vacation. BUT,my mother kept calling me EVERY SINGLE DAY wanting to know if I had found a job or if I was looking for a job AND she wanted to know WHY I hadn't found a job yet. She stayed on my back every day until I found another job.

Honestly I felt like a bum, although people always complain I don't have time to do this and that, when I was out of work I got really depressed, nothing to do just sit him for couple months. I couldn't handle it. Once I got a job and had no time to do anything, I felt better, kind of weird....

I am in that situation now....I have been not too well lately with depression but now recovered enough to be job searching again. I think it would be better if employers were more understanding and you could explain it all better as to why you have been out of work.

I was unemployed for 4 months living of meager savings and trying to raise a 3 year old. I felt like S.H.I.T!!!! And was dead scared. I took the first thing smoking and while I don't LOVE my job, I am sooooo grateful for it.

I am unemployed now, but I don't feel a failure, I just get on with life. It is not my fault that there are not much jobs out there.

I felt terrible, but that's because I was flat broke too. Money makes a big difference when you're unemployed.
