I too have a penchant for the older gent. I'm in my mid-twenties, and have always fallen for the older man, much to the concern of my folks, I'm sure.
There's somethng tremendously sexy about a man who's head is screwed on, whose feet are on the ground, who thinks with more than his just his loins ... They appreciate the finer things in life, they know their way around a woman's body, and they tend to last more than two minutes too! And grey hair smattering through at the temples ... well it's true, it's so sexy ... My beau is 13 years my senior, and he is perhaps the most gorgeous man I have ever known ...
There's the thought of it being strangely linked to our relationships with our fathers. Perhaps that's right, but I'd like to think not. I wonder if you get all oooh over Anthony Head, like I do? I'd marry him in a minute. Oooh, you've gotten me all of a fidget now ... Lucky beau, I say!

I can only tell you that I feel the same way, only problem is that as I get older they get much older! I appreciate the confidence and maturity. I appreciate the time they take and the patience that they have. I appreciate the easy familiarity and the attention. I like that they take more time and pleasure in sex. They are interested in making sure that the woman is satisfied and take pride in that - not like younger guys who just want to get off. They dress better and usually know better how to show a good time. It's just that they have more experience all around and are wiser, gentler and kinder because of it. Chances are they have experienced love before and are not afraid of going there again. They understand and appreciate a good woman more and are more forgiving of small day-to-day problems. I'll take an older man any day over a young jerk who wants to play games. Another reason is that they can take care of themselves as far as cooking, cleaning, hygeine, etc... They don't need a "mama" and it's more fun to be the babied one in the relationship - more comforting and definitely less stressful.
The man I have now is 16 years older than me and is the sexiest man I have ever known - plus all of the above!

Also their maturity, most men who are the same age as their women are actually mentally a few years younger. With an older man they can sometimes be on the same wavelength, also that most older men are more confident and financially and emotionally more secure than their younger counterparts.
They know how to treat a women, they have been around a little longer to understand the opposite sex!

Well...I am currently in a relationship with a man that is 11 years older than me..he is only 28 so he doesn't have that "sexy grey hair" lol, but to me it's that they really know what they're doing..if you know what I mean. Not only that, but they're more considerate, romantic...and bottom line, they are NOT little boys! Also, I feel as though I have a subconcious desire for a father figure, since I've never had one. But anyway, I've never been able to date a guy even 2 years older than me..I feel as though I am so far past my age group, and I'm proud of it! I think all girls should try an older man :) y'know, as long as they're of legal age!

Blame our ancestors. When the land was big, and people were few, our ancestors looked for young females to have sex with. People did not live long, so young females gave a better chance of childbirth. And attractive females gave birth to good-looking and healthy children. There was no doctors around. This was the "law" of survival for thousands of years. The everything got civilized. And the world changed, people did not. So men are still chasing after the young females, without even realizing it is from instinct.

They're more sophisticated and learned. They tend to know how to treat a woman better, what she wants. They're not as immature. Though none of this applies to all older men.
There tends to be that huge mental age difference between men and women too. Sometimes it's easier to connect with a guy who's older rather than one who's your own age because of maturity levels.

You should be able to answer this question yourself, by saying what you want in a man, and then do you see these things in younger men. Probably Not.
At the same time what about older women, why do so many want a younger man?

I have always liked older men. When most girls of 14 pin ups were take that or johnny depp, I always had a thing for Liam Neeson...its quite disgusting really he is a year older than my mum. i.e old enough to be my father.
The last guy I really liked was 14 years older than me...I can't say it was is maturity...he has the maturity of a 3 year old...but we get on alright

They're more matured. They tend to dress properly sometimes. They're more confident in their needs and wants and know how to get it. Their thinking are more geared towards family, relations, saving money. They tend to look for things of quality more than quanity and willing to spend money for it. They tend to be more down to earth, and understand social morals because they have seen more things in the world. And the most important part especially with the educated ones, they're wise. Good enough, yes?

Im not sure, perhaps they want a strong man to look upto, to care for them, treat them like a princess, a father type but not?
It has never really been my thing but thats what id guess at.
Power? I dont know. I have always had a ten year max age limit (he has to be at least a few years older than me).
