ok i know saddam is dead but i dont get it what was the point of killing him i am a kurd but i seriously dont get the point of it at all and i even feel sorry for him because god is forgiving and he might be forgivven by god...but theres no point of why they killed him...seriously

Interesting. Apparently you are too young or have forgotten what he did to your fellow countrymen.
Still, I only feel the most hollow feeling of justice being served here. The killings and tortures continue even with Saddam gone.
It would be asking a lot to forgive a man like Saddam. However, his death is hardly detering anyone from continuing the bloodshed. And they have managed to turn this evil man Saddam into some sort of martyr, who died for his country.
People need death to make some sort of point. But with all the death going on, it is losing its effectiveness.

The point was that it sends a message that, even if you are a dictator, killing hundreds of innocent people is a crime and you will be pounished for it. What about hte family of the victims?? I am sure that they want justice for their family members' deaths. The punishment fit the crime in the eyes of Saddam's country and fellow countrymen. Why would you jsut pay to keep him alive in prison?? If God wants to forgive Saddam thats his call, but I don't think that people should turn the topher cheek on a dictoator that used violence as a measure of oppression and control.

I agree he should have died for all the grief he has caused to a lot of people. But there are so many leaders out there that even do worse things than he did, but do you see them standing trial?? Obviously not because there is no monetary interest for the superpowers to intervene. This annoys me, if Bush was so worried for the well being of man kind then he would help out in places like Ethiopia and Rwanda. The world would be such a peace full place if only every country had oil.

First of all, I don't think God forgave him because Saddam probably didn't ask for forgiveness. God knows the intent of his heart. and he was killed because he killed an estimated 2 million people.

You must be with Amnesty International. People are executed for their role and responsibility for the death of individuals. Saddam is guilty as Hitler was! Don't understand the meaning of mass murder? He got what he deserved, even though I was powerless over his plight! Those poor people and their surviving family members have nothing now to resent but why it took so long to put that man to death!

He was put to death for the slaughtering of thousands and thousands of people; Shiites and his own people! God is not forgiving toward those that don't repent of their sins. Saddam was way too arrogant and defiant - power-hungry and I highly doubt he turned to Almighty God for forgiveness. In short, he got his just punishment for the atrocities against humanity that he committed!

Killing innocent people is a crime, killing a multitude of innocent people while be a dictator is still a crime. He got a fair trial and was found guilty and therefore executed.

did you not see how he treated the people who didn't approve of him and what he stood for... tell what could of a 7 yr. old boy do to him that he deserved to have a bomb placed around his neck and be blown up?
