There's a good chance you could be induced early. Babies born to moms with gestational diabetes tend to be bigger at full term (the extra sugar causes them to put on extra weight), and some require a c-section. My sister had gestational diabetes with her first, and she was induced two weeks early (baby was 7 lbs). So you may be induced early so that you don't have to deliver a very large baby.

~C sections are pretty common anymore. The doctors worry about a big baby, it hurts the baby and mom during birth.
I wouldn't want my baby any earlier than 2 weeks. You can always plan on a C section.
Watch what you eat, especially sugar, it all goes straight to the baby.
I had Gestational Diabetes and they didn't know it until my baby was born, C section.
She was two weeks early and wouldn't breast feed, they said she was early and that's why, so I pumped for 4 months.
Whatever happens, just pray the baby comes through normal, and more often than not, they do. Good luck.~

They will induce you early because the baby could get to big to have vaginally. Also.. if you are having a hard time controlling your blood sugar it is not good for the baby so they will take it because sometimes it is better for the baby to come out then to stay in. Good luck

You'll be induced about 2-3 weeks early. You will have problems also with a larger baby than average (usually anyways) and may even end with a c-section. Don't worry either way, doctors know what they are doing and baby and you will be fine. Good Luck and God Bless!!

sounds to me like there is a very good chance that they will induce labor. Your health has to come first if your baby is going to have a good start at life. Don't worry about it. The good news there is, your doctor will likely let you pick the date. (within a few days anyway). My first was induced, and I preferred the knowing to the frantic unpreparedness of my second child anyway. (He was born 1 hr and 38 min. asfter my I fisrt felt contractions at 1:00am. It will be okay, no matter how it happens, it will be okay.

My first son grew to become into precipitated approximately 10 days early because of the fact of his length. The sonograms upped his due date. top now i'm 32 weeks pregnant and am getting a c-section on 12/5 (36 weeks) because of the fact of placental previa. Preeclamsia, broken membranes, and diabetes are additionally reasons for early induction. in certainty each time it is a danger for the toddler or mom to bypass the finished 40 weeks the determination is made to grant early. docs will attempt to maintain the toddler in for as long as conceivable. 37 weeks is seen finished term and the closer you're to this date the extra useful. i grew to become into instructed that on a daily basis in takes to the air a million week interior the NICU.

I think you will be induced at least a couple of weeks early, it will depend on how bad thing get toward the end. So have everything a month early just ot be on the safe side.

Its known that moms with gestational diabeties have larger babies (but i sure your Dr. alreay talked to you about that) so for your health and baby's health your Dr. will most likely induce either 37 or 38 weeks along...
