I wouldn't really think so, but there is a helpful chart I did find on one site...

Micro fiction under 100
Flash fiction under 1000
Short story 1000 to 7500
Novella, novellette 7000 to 50,000
Novel 50,000 to approximately 150,000
Epic over 150,000

Each market has its own limit, listed with their submission guidelines on their Website. The numbers given by others here are the range, but it will depend of the preferences of the market you send it to.
Note: Literary magazines still take short stories, but mostly pay in copies of the magazine, not money. Good luck!

A short story is under 10,000 words.

ya, it's usually 2000 - 2500 words
