Is it better to justy nod and smile then go on with your conversation with others present when they interject with a doltish comment or shoudl you really putthem in their place in the hopes that they try to gain some intellect before they join in again or at least shut their cake holes.

Some people don't take hints very well. Sometimes you just have to say it point blank.

I usually just listen. They are usually thankful that you are there to lend an ear. However, if it gets to the point that tey come around ALL the time just to talk about...mindless stuff. I will usually try and strike up conversations with others in the hopes that they get lost, and leave. : )

DEPENDS ON THE PERSON. IF U DON'T LIKE HIM/HER AND WANT 2 EMBARRASS THEM, THAN GO AHEAD AND PUT THEM OUT THERE.
IF NOT, JUST IGNORE IT AND GO ON WITH THE CONVERSATION!!
