I have often been called an emo due to my love of wearing black (and lots of it) and "emo bands" such as MCR and HIM. What do you think makes you an emo? I also welcome comments on Goths, Greebos, Chavs and Hippies.

And by this I mean the general communities idea of these groups. Sofor example, a guy might be referred to as a hippy because he had long hair and played guitar

Hippies, I can't stand them. They have poor personal hygine, they take drugs and advocate communism. Not a very admirable kind of person.

Emo- one who wears all black or black with pink, has hair in their face, black hair, eyeliner, emo music like MCR, cuts, makes out with guys, tight clothes
Goths- alone, all black, heavy metal, black make up
Chavs- trailer trash, poor, ugly fur coats, ugly checkerd clothes, etc
Hippies- weirdos who have long hair and like peace. For some reason, I think of the 60s.
Greebo- punk, hardcore, etc

I like black because it look nice, you can put any color with it.
and beside I can buy some nice black things at The Salvation Army store. hear me God is love and he really is I don't know about the other gr ops, I only know god sent his son to die on the cross so that we could have life, how much more love is that. he love us so much he gave us a chose-to take Jesus as our saver.

Emo...emotional basketcase. Someone who dreams and otherwise obsesses over their own death. A truely depressed person who readily welcomes their own death.
I also like black and enjoy listening to MCR and HIM, yet I also like industrial, punk, celtic, J-rock, K-rock,...well, you get the idea. I don't consider myself emo, though others have. I guess by my definition, suicide bombers are emo. ^^

I look at it as 'Going through a phase that they'll look back on with red faces in ten years' time when they see a photo of themselves'.
