It has nothing to do with black women being attractive (most white men would agree they aren't and this is natural and normal). It has more to do with hip hop's gross overrepresentation of material objects/money and sexuality. Basically hip hop videos today have replaced the heavy metal music of the 1980s in showing these as central to the music. Young boys see these and think that if they buy into this culture they are going to get "bling", "rims" and "girls". Most that try to copy this culture look stupid, especially whites.

This is a great question! It seem that every time I turn around white women are getting plastic surgery to have fuller lips....bigger butts...bigger breast. They also tan a lot! I think being black is the new fad. They just don't want to admit to that. But it just goes to show you that they are really insecure with themselves. I personally have never and won't wear a weave because I already have naturally long hair being part Indian but anyway I was kind've surprised of all the white women who wear weaves. When they're supposedly supposed to have the best and longest hair. Two sayings...."The Blacker the Berry...the Sweeter the Juice" "Once You Go Black..You Never Go Back"

Yes, I believe being Black is the new hotness.
However, i don't think there will come a time where the pendulum with swing in such a way that they wont be accepted.
Well, what i mean to say is this...
Since the Civil Rights movements Blacks have had a hard time, and fought, to be looked up equally by mostly whites. And by no means do i believe they are looked upon equally by all but i do think they have made great strides. Especially among the young people who grew up and taught (hopefully) that all races are equals. So what you see now, in my opinion, is the celebration of the black race.
At some point this new 'hotness' of being black will fade a bit but i think this whole thing is just a sign of the races coming together and accepting one another as you would never seen any of this in the 50's.
Blacks my not like other races trying to imitate them but they do say that imitation is the finest form of flattery.

Erykah Badu is one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen, whether she has a fro, a shaven head, or a weave.
I saw her on some TV show once with the most amazing weave, what looked like millions of tiny tiny braids down to her butt. I didn't equate the hair style as being "BLACK" so much as gorgeous, and I had it done to mine for a few months. Gawd the pain, all the respect in the world to women who have braids, 14 hours of being still with my scalp being picked to pieces. I had it done in the woman's home, and she had other clients there, all African American, and not a one looked pleased to see my cracker butt getting braids. For a little bit I felt almost apologetic, like I needed to explain why I was getting my hair braided. It was an odd feeling, like trying on a dress you know you cannot afford while the sales lady glares at you for wasting her time.
I like a lot of the clothing styles that are associated with black culture. I like a lot music that is considered "black music". The fact that it is considered "black" has no bearing on my liking it. Maybe it seems like liking "black" is the new fad, because there is so much black culture around us all now and it's only natural for other races to adopt parts of it they like. People have adopted things from other cultures since the beginning of time, so I would think it would be an outright insult if whites and other races did NOT do this.

Some years back I kept a Praying Mantis as a pet, and they only eat live food! Consequently, I acquired the skill of GENTLY capturing live flies in flight, or off any surface, so that I could feed my Mantis uninjured and active prey. Most moving incident was late one night when on arrival home I found my Mantis shedding its skin. I watched, enthralled, for over an hour and I shall never forget seeing my Mantis gradually extend and spread its brand new rainbow-shimmering wings. Next day I released it onto a grapevine in my garden, the same garden in which I subsequently found a swarm of very tiny, recently hatched mantids! They are the cutest little creatures you could ever imagine.

It's true-in the past people hated blacks but at the same time people imitate us, our cultural and everything about black life is intriguing to others. People hate us and wanna be us, but this is the same for a lot of other races. Blacks want their hair to be long ad silky like whites, so we imitate them because society tells us white is beautiful. Everyone copies each other it's a way of life.

What is a corn roll? Do you mean a corn row? And who looks down on blacks....who cares who wears what????? Women have been wearing hairpieces for centuries, regardless of race, but used to be women with more money, so what is the point of caring who does what?

I dunno where you're from but I've never "looked down" on black people. As far as the style thing goes all I can say is fashion steals trends and fads from every culture. Whats wrong with that? Would you prefer everyone dressing the same and having the same hair styles? How boring would that be?!?
