well, most renters would like to know why, if you have a good reason they shouldnt have a problem with it. But i would ask them that question first before you spend money on the application fee.

Most do not care you were evicted as long as you don't owe money to the property still. If you do owe money call the old property, find out the amount they will settle for, pay it and move on.
I had this problem before, trust me don't try to skip this step, pay if off and move on without a dark cloud lurking over you. It will come back to bite you. Make it easy on yourself, pay it off and move on.

Some apartment complexes don't ask for rental history.
Also, If you say you don't have a prior rent history some don't check any further.

you might need a co-signer. Most landlords wouldn't want someone with the history of eviction to live at their place
