Right now some companies are offering 30 to 40 cent a gallon rebates. But the rebates come with limits and the interest rates (if you carry a balance) are way high! If you get a card for the rebates, follow the rules for rebates, pay your bill in full, and when the rebates are used up don,'t use the card anymore (or cancel it if you can).

Yes, it keep you from always having to carry cash for gas purchases, you can use pay at the pump; great if you have kids, you don't have to drag them out of the car to keep an eye on them. Also makes it easy to write one check for gas every month for tax purposes. And if you pay in full before the due date you avoid interest.
It depends on where you live, but I use BP/Amoco Gas Card and most of the others are the same. Get a card from a major gas company with stations in the areas you frequent, so you don't waste gas looking for a station that takes your card. And just in case of an emergency you can run a credit line; and get your car back on the road if you need service or extra money for gas.
Major brand gas may initially cost a little more than off-brands, but I have never had a fuel related failure in any of my cars. And have never had to have any professional fuel injector cleaning services preformed either. Many people I know that live in the same area have had to replace fuel injectors and/or have them professionally cleaned due to reformulated fuel usage.
