I just can't stop drinking water...I must drink water on top of water...I wake up in the middle of the night like 4 times to pee. It's disrupting my sleep but I must drink water. Also, If I don't get enough water my body starts to shake and I feel dissy. What is wrong with me?

I actually drink like 8 bottles, 4 big cups, and frequently go to the water fountain at work or drink more cups of water at home...

Your insatiable desire for water can be a symptom of other medical problems (like diabetes). You should mention this to your doctor, just to rule that out. "Water intoxication" is a problem usually associated with athletes, but other people get it too. It's become one of the most common causes of serious heat illness. People drink large amounts of water and do not eat enough food to provide for electrolyte (salt, potassium) replacement and energy. People have the mistaken belief that the safe thing to do is to drink as much and as often as possible. They need to be sure they aren't flushing out essential minerals your body needs to work. But even with drinking water, there can be too much of a good thing. The dizziness you feel may be caused by other conditions as well, or because you've actually ingested too much water. As you are also experiencing from the constant need to output, tremendous amounts of water is very taxing on the kidneys and bladder.

Well, you don't really say how much water you are drinking. Drinking lots of water by itself isn't a problem, but some medical problems will cause you to drink a lot, such as diabetes.
If you are drinking so much water that you can't sleep through the night, you should consult a doctor.

How much water exactly are you drinking? You should be drinking half your weight in pounds in oz. if you weigh 120, you'd drink 60oz of water a day.
Did you hear about that one guy who overdosed on water?
Your body needs a certain amount of sodium and too much water depletes it. When you drink a lot of water take a pinch of kosher salt with it!

Ask your doctor, that can be a symptom of a larger problem. You can't be addicted to water, so your body must be craving it to try to relieve some sort of problem. I saw a story on one of those Mystery Diagnosis shows about a child that would not stop drinking water. He had a problem. Wish I could remember what it was.

No its good. Give your body the water it need. Average is 6-8 glasses per day. Bit sometimes your body asks for more. Its very good for you health to drink a glass of water when you wake up. (before eating breakfast)

rule out diabetes with a test from your doctor, it could otherwise be a problem with your liver. Check out the show on discovery health channel - one of the episodes was just like your problem. Im sure it will air again its called "An Unquenchable Thirst " it aired on December 27. It was a kid, but he couldnt stop drinking and he had to wake up and pee constantly. He also had other symptoms such as his eyes hurt in the sunlight and he needed to wear glasses or try to keep his eyes wet (this was much later symptoms). check it out and good luck :)

Water is always good for you, but in your case, I would seek the help of a doctor. This could be the cause of an underlying problem, like diabetes. Just see a doc to be safe. Take care!

You may want to get that checked. My friend drank tons of water at one time and started having seizures. Turns out she was drinking too much and washing out all the nutritions.

Usually a person gets in trouble when they don't get enough fluids. Like when you can't keep anything on your stomach. You get dehydrated. It is healthy to drink lots of water. Get checked out by your doctor. One sign of diabetics is a great thirst.
