...if you are in say your early 30s, don't want to queue outside with a bunch of drunk geezers and girls, and don't want music so loud your ears ring for a week. But you do want somewhere cool with cool music. Any ideas?

Look for smaller places like Plastic People, The Key or Herbal, or bars with DJs like The Warwick or Anam.

I was going to say StringFellows, but they have loud music.
Great looking young women there though. I was there in 1997, not sure if the place is still there.
