Generally male couples both refer to each other as their husband, female couples refer to each other as their wife. As for "ruling" home affairs, I've found that same sex couple are much better about having an equal partnership on those matters, probably because traditional gender roles have been discarded. It's amazingly refreshing.

My guess is gay marriage is like any other marriage: it's a partnership. In our home, no one "rules," we are equal partners who bring different talents and abilities to the relationship.

Like in heterosexual marriages, it's all about what works for a particular couple.

They're partners. Get it? P-A-R-T-N-E-R-S. Equals. Maybe that's why so many precious marriages between men and women fail - men feel the need to dominate their wives instead of working together.
