Someone Comes to Town, Someone Leaves Town by Cory Doctorow
The main character is the son of a mountain (father) and a dishwasher (mother). He is tended in his infancy by golems and then helps raise his brothers who range from an island to 3 brothers who fit together like nesting dolls. He has no idea how his conception was possible, he doesn't know if he is human, and - big surprise - he doesn't know how to fit in with normal society. Add to this twisted plot the fact that the story is frequently interrupted by flashbacks and other non-linear storytelling tactics and you wind up mighty confused.
A strange book about strange beings - but entertaining none the less.

I like the Bible...
But I did NOT like "A Skeleton in God's Closet". It was the most badly written book I'd read in a long time. The idea was some people found a skeleton that had marks in the bones of its hands and feet, a slash mark across the ribs etc. and they thought they'd found the body of Jesus, with all that that implies. I suppose it was an interesting thought but it was so poorly executed that I felt like throwing the book across the room when I was done.
There ya go.

That would be a religious pamphlet (I don't remember the title) which explained (in great detail) how evolution was completely false using the Bible as a science book (always a bad idea) to refute each logical foundation of evolution using some scripture to prove it wrong. I laughed and laughed, until I realized how many people believe that stuff. Sad but true.

The North Beach Diet. It is this book that is like the opposite of the South Beach Diet where you are encouraged to eat as much as you can of really fattening foods, and it has all these really sickening recipes, like corn, but instead of cooking it in water, you boil it in a huge pot FULL of butter. It was really gross. But it is really funny to read.
