Yes it is a possible sign. I have this condition and have a cerclage (cervical stitch) at the moment. I lost my son at 20 weeks pregnancy and it was a spontaneous opening of the cervix. Please dont panic but ask every possible question you can, and dont leave his office till you are satisfied. There are no warning for incompetent cervix. Usually loosing a child between 18/21 weeks with no abnormalities in the baby is the only sign you get. Hopefully if it is the case and you have caught it soon you could have a cerclage fitted right away. Good luck.
An ultra sound has no baring on whether you have an incompetent cervix or not. I had a scan they said yes your baby is fine but sorry there is nothing we can do. Please get medical advice.

do you realize the nurses warm line. Its in many situations loose. All you do is seem up the nurses warm line variety based the place you reside. they'll take all your indicators into attention and inform you no count number if or no longer it desires to be looked at genuine away or it ought to watch for the following day...or maybe you should attend till your checklist comes back into city. ultimate selection once you're pregnant and apprehensive is to envision it out fairly than go away it. If it concerns you its worth asking approximately. only possibly to docs and nurses fairly than people who could no longer be nurses or docs on line.

it could be many things, such as stretching or round ligament pains, or a sign that something is wrong, you wont know until you talk to the doctor he will probably do an ultrasound just to reassure you that everything is fine.
good luck
