I mean on their receipt they say if you are not completely satisfied with your puchases, you may return it.
So I used the item and want to return it, do they take it?

Once I went to Macy's with almost-used-all serum and she said she cannot take it back since there are no more left in there but if I am not happy with the purchase, aren't they supposed to take it back as they said in the receipt? Or is it me so greedy?

So I do not know about Sephora, but they seem more easy with returning. So I was wondering if they take back any used-all purchases. And if Macy's is sypposed to do so too.
Isn't there some rights of a customer that if the reciept does not indicate the usage of products for the returning, the customer has right to get her money back?

Help me..

If you are returning something empty then you are not really returning anything. Unless it was a small amount of ounces that guaranteed results in say a week or something and you wouldn't know the outcome without trying the product. You have to be firm because at Macy's they work hourly/commission and whatever you take back comes off their daily sales. Better to get a different product of the same value with a receipt and take it back to another department. Cosmetics HATES returning anything. If you have the receipt thought then they should do it. If they say no then ask to speak to a manager. That pisses them off. Good luck!!!!!! '-)

The store also has the right not to get ripped off. If you are using most or ALL of the product you should not be allowed to get your money back. That would be like going to a nice restaurant, eating your entire meal and demanding your money back because you changed your mind and weren't "satisfied".

A little used is understandable but not "most or ALL" of it! Come on!

Yes it is greedy and can ruin store policy for exchanges and returns for the rest of us customers who have better shopping etiquette.

I use to work at sephora and yes they do with or without a receipt. If you don't have a receipt you can exchange the item or they issue a gift card for that amount. Hope this helps.

Most stores apply the commonsense rule---if most of the product is consumed or used up when returned, or in a bad shape, they will refuse. Otherwise you can hope for a full refund or at least an even exchange.

It's unhygenic to return opened products that are cosmetics. Would you want to buy an open product returned by someone like you because you didn't like it?
