I am a mother of two and now stay home full-time with them while working my Mary Kay business (I was a paralegal for 6 years prior to Mary Kay and completely replaced my income within one year of working my business). Becoming a consultant works well for stay at home moms because it is very flexible and gives you the ability to work as much or as a little as you want...depending on your schedule. Mary Kay is the #1 brand of skin care and color cosmetics and the product is consumable so reorders are a great way to keep the extra money coming in.

This is an interesting situation. You will need to be a bit creative.
There are several things you could do, depending on your willingness to do what it takes.
You can be a virtual secretary for someone, provided you are willing to take calls and do some word-processing, data entry, and spread-sheets. This requires a phone, a computer, and internet connection, and perhaps a printer and fax would help. You may want to get some software that will do the job.
You can be a direct sales agent (for different companies), if you're willing to be on the phone and talk to people. You will need a phone, a computer, and internet connection.
You can be a travel agent, same as above.
If you are a good writer, you can either write articles for magazines or write stories for your own book.
If you are good at researching and are good at writing academic papers (like term papers and essays and thesis), you can be a shadow writer for students - it's shady, but it's something you can do.
There may be costs involved to set up the working virtual office - it could range from $50 to $2000. Plus, of course, you will need to be willing to learn and talk to people. You will need some solid people skills and phone skills.

There are a number of things that a nursing mother can do on-line working from home or anywhere for that matter.
You take part in on-line paid surveys, where you are paid for airing your opinions. You can use yahoo search to find paid survey sights. most of them are free to register, while some will ask you to pay a token to register.
If you have an eye for typo-errors and are good in any of the international languages you can also make money, as a proof reader for publishers. Again search for them on yahoo search. But what ever you choose to do, pls beware of scams who offer you deals that sound too good to be real, most times that's what they are.

My only advice is to be very careful and check any business that you are planning on being in league with out. Make sure you check the BBB and also surf around on the net and make sure you don't find anything about the business being a scam....and you should NEVER have to pay someone to work for them!

Try being a medical transciptionist. They type up the "doctors notes" for the patients records. Check with your doctors office on how to get started.
