Variable Annuities charge between 1% to 3% more than the standard 1.5% that mutual funds charge. Your choice is better than a bank CD or Savings account, but if you are under the age of 65... yourmoney should probably be invested where it can grow more efficiently.

Does MetLife have good perfomance over the past 10 years? That is the bottom line. Paying high fees sucks, but not getting good performance is even worse!

you will have fees coming from somewhere, just maybe not extra charges, the company makes money somehow
