Elucidate. Let the sun shine in!

I use my blinds ... First reason is because the sun is so intense where I live (and retired to) ... secondly ... I am uncomfortable with people looking in my home as they pass by (and I'm Retired Military ... I did get quarters assigned in Family Housing .. and I NEVER liked others looking in at what I happen to have in my home of the moment) ... and I need to filter out the heat as well as the intense sunlight. I love my wood furniture and old pieces, and do not want them damaged either from the intense sunlight.

most of the time the sun comes through my blinds and if i open them it would be way 2 bright so i just leave them closed. my mom opens up the blinds and that bothers me so much 4 some reason

I have 4 windows in my bedroom and all but one of the blinds are down. The one by my bed has to be open while I sleep. I don't know why.

It depends upon the time of the day. If the sun will be shining directly upon certain pieces of wood, or fabrics then I keep them close to avoid fading. Otherwise, I use the blinds to filter the light.

In our current house, blinds because our neighbors are too close. In our new house which we will get this year, I definitely hope to let the sun in :)

In the winter I welcome the sun in just to warm up the house a little, and in the summer I will let the sun beam through in the mornings, but I will shut the blinds in the afternoon....too hot. : )

in my living room I like to keep the blinds open- it makes it more friendly. but in my bedroom I keep the blinds closed all of the time b/c it makes it more comfy and keeps it cool

I like the sun, so I let the sun in, then my 3 fatty cats lay in the sun....
