I know you stop having periods after awhile but how and when do you actually know? What changes of the body should I look out for?

As a woman who went through infertility, I can tell you this is the one question that I combed message boards and search engines for when I was wondering if I was pregnant but it was too early to test. Here are the symptoms that I had - keep in mind that you can have all or none of these symptoms and still be pregnant. It is different for everyone and different for each pregnancy as well.

I had a slight tugging on my left side of my stomach.
I had a metallic taste - things just didn't taste right.
Sore throat - or as I like to call it a 'gaggy throat'
Felt very overtired

I hope you get the answer your looking for - good luck!

Actually, some people never miss a period. At least it appears like a period. You know by tender breasts, uncomfort in the belly mostly abdomin area. Some people say they just have the feeling. You can take a pregnancy test after 1 or 2 weeks of the expected time of your period. Morning first pee is the best to use. It has the most pheramones in it.

In this day and age, most women don't spend too long trying to figure it out, they just do a test.
You should stop getting periods within a few weeks of conception. Other signs are sore breasts, cramping, nausea. Some women pee more, others get a metallic taste in their mouth.

Weight gain, fatigue, vomiting (early pregnancy), soreness (in the back and sometimes all over), tender breasts, increase in breast size and a few more but the only way to be sure is to take a test or go to the doctors.

Take a test. Thats the only sure fire way to know. Most women stop their periods immediately some has only one month of their period and some has it the whole way through. The only sure fire way is to take a test.

Geez Louise...........you need to take a test. I mean most people don't just sit around waiting for "Signs" you usually miss your period after having unprotected sex and then you take a test. If it is negative and you still haven't gotten your period after about 2 weeks or so, consult a doctor, you may have some other problem, but for crying out loud don't just sit around and wait for signs.

When you take a pregnancy test or go get a blood test and it says it's positive..that's really the only way to find out
